Happy Apples

Karins äppelkaka, så har jag skrivit i min handskrivna, tjocka receptbok. Om jag kommer ihåg rätt, så kommer detta recept ursprungligen från hennes mormor i Sverige. Enkelt och gott, en riktig gammaldags äppelkaka, inte enklare än så. När jag bakar denna kaka, då tänker jag varje gång på dig Karin och dina flitiga händer som klipper hundratals äppelträd och plockar runda, vackra äppel. Du är min äppeldrottning!

Karin´s apple cake, this is the name of this simple but oh so delicious apple cake, which recipe I have written in my fat cook book. The original recipe comes from my Swedish friend Karin´s grandmother in Sweden, if I´m not misstaken. Every time when I bake this cake I think about you Karin and your hard working, small hands, cutting hundreds of apple trees and picking round, lovely apples. You are the real apple queen!
