Sunday Sunshine

Sometimes I forget how beautiful it actually is, here where I live year after year. Here in Austria I´m like a full time tourist, feels like being on vacation and discovering something new almost every day, although I´m working and living a normal life like everyone else.

Take a look this fantastic Wildmoos area, just one hour´s walk from my home, like a huge nature park for winter sport activities, loved by tourists and locals. Warming sun and peace, apfelstrudel and that Sunday easy goin mood.

Coral Love

You know that spring is getting closer when you start longing for coral colours. I love coral, for me it´s the colour of joy, happiness and life. Sun tanned skin and coral shades are the perfect match. Dior must know that there are many coral lovers in this world, look at these wonderful things they´ve come out with for this upcoming spring. Couldn´t resist to grab these things with me from the newest spring collection.

Ban Ban Banoffee

I got to know "the queen of all desserts" when I was working in a hotel in England in my younger days. It was served on every sunday, on the brunch buffet and everything that was left was for the stuff (read: finnish girls). And how we were eating with big spoons, not even leaving a single crumble on the plate while the sugar level in blood was reaching its peak.

Everyone who´s afraid of sugar should keep her hands off this thing. If you have a friend in England or you are on your way to go there, don´t forget to take many packages of "Ginger Nuts" biscuits with you. And note that Banoffee is not a cake, it´s dessert my dear.

Banoffee

1 purkki kondensoitua maitoa/ 1 can condensed milk
100g sulatettua voita/ 100g melted butter
1,5 pakettia ginger nuts keksejä tai digestive keksejä/ 1,5 package of ginger nuts or digestive biscuits
2-3 banaania/ 2-3 bananas
3 dl kermaa vaahdotettuna/1,3 cups cream (whipped)

Keitä avaamatonta peltipurkkia 3 tuntia koko ajan vahtien että purkki on veden alla. Murskaa keksit mixerillä ja lisää sulatettu voi. Paina muruset kakkuvuoan pohjalle. Levitä valmis karamelliseos pohjan päälle ja anna seistä jääkapissa pari tuntia. Lisää banaaninsiivut ja lopuksi kermavaahto nätisti pursottaen.

Cook the can in water for 3 hours. Crush the biscuits in a mixer and add the melted butter. Press the crumbles with a spoon to the bottom of a cake form. Pour the caramel over the biscuit crumbles and let it rest in the fridge for some hours. Put the sliced bananas on the caramel and the whipped cream on the top.
