Pizza Sofia

Perjantai-ilta. Väsynyt mieli ja väsyneet jalat. Nyt on aika hemmotella, vatsaa ja aisteja. Kotipizza ja hyvää punaviiniä. Ei mitään sen kummempaa. Kynttilät ja takkatuli. Lasten helpottuneet kasvot rankan kouluviikon jälkeen. Minä ja ihanat villasukat. Elämä on aika yksinkertaista.

Friday night. Tired feet and mind. Time to enjoy and relax. Home made pizza and good red wine. Nothing special. Candles and a warming fire. Kids happy faces after a hard week at school. Me and my wool socks. Life is simple.

Ausverkauf, Sale or whatever!

It wasn´t my intention to go in there!! Where? To the shopping mall. In fact I don´t like SALE, although I have to admit it´s a fantastic feeling when you find something you really like and in your size (which is seldom the case) and 50% or more off the price. This time I didn´t look for something for myself, only for my sweet mice. Because all of us in this family love comfortable, good looking home wear, I was quite happy to pay for all these things from Zara Kids around 40 euro!

More than enough

Tänään näytän teille miten paljon lunta meillä täällä Seefeldissä on. Kolme päivää ja yötä on satanut taukoamatta. Tänään eivät edes junat kulkeneet ja elämä on muutenkin vaikeampaa kuin muuten. Kaatuneita puita kuin myrskyn jäljiltä. Joka puolella traktoreita, ihmiset kävelevät keskellä tietä autojen seassa.

Can you imagine how it looks like when it has been snowing for three days and nights. Today the trains "made a break" because of fallen trees on the rails. Snow cars are working day and night. Pedestrians walking on the street among the cars. Life gets difficult.

.........and for tomorrow they reported more snow.

Pasta Carbonara and Snail Wine

Today at home with Sofia we are hungry! It has been snowing for many days, it makes you tired and therefore our body is longing for cream and garlic! Pasta Carbonara and home made garlic bread and a big glass of Spanish red wine. Voila´! It´s a perfect day!

English friends on a visit

Jauhopeukalo oli tänään vauhdissa kun piti saada nopeasti jotakin hyvää vieraille. Päätin tehdä englantilaisille ystäville tyypillisen itävaltalaisen Marillen Streusel Kuchen ja lapsille Blueberry Streusel Muffins. Ostan loppu kesästä monta kiloa pikku aprikooseja, eli itävaltalaisittain Marillen, pakastan annospusseihin ja näin saadan talvella kesän tuulahduksia pöytään.

Today at home with Sofia we were baking and serving typical Austrian Marillen Streusel Kuchen and Blueberry Streusel Muffins for our dear English friends. In August I buy these small, sweet apricots, here in Austria called marillen, put them in the freezer and then enjoy them on a cake on a dark and cold winter´s day.

Tonight me and my girl, just the two of us at home, tired after Christmas and New Year, lying on the sofa under a warm blanket, probably falling a sleep....

A new carpet

Our new carpet has finally arrived! It was a long process, it took over 2 months to produce it, beacause we wanted it in a special colour (stone) and in an extra big size. The carpet is made in Germany, company JAB, made from New Zealand wool. Feels like walking on moss. Kids are lying on it while watching tv.

And friends, I have to admit, it feels good to start a new year with a new, fresh carpet, like starting all over again, believe me. Maybe it´s going to be a happy, new year after all!

Christmas tree decoration

My favourite! Love this glittery reindeer, jumping around in the sky.

Every year I buy one or two new Christmas tree decorations, but this year I didn´t found any. I think I wasn´t in the right place at the right time. Last year me and my girl were in Helsinki in the beginning of  Nowember, when Stockmann opened their Christmas department. This is the place where you easily spend more than one hour just looking around. Like beeing in a candy store, you just don´t know which one to pick. Of course we bought our most beautiful decorations there. Now I show you our favourites.

Arabian Christmas Cake

Today at home with Sofia we are flying on a carpet to Arabia. Just to taste the famous Arabian Christmas Cake. Spices like muscat, cinnamon, lemon, cardamom, vanilla and chocolate are blended by Arabian womens hands to create this outstanding taste. Not to mention the chocolate coffee icing, which is poured on top of the cake by the Sultan of the village himself.

Tänään Sofian kotona lennetään matolla Arabiaan ja maistetaan siellä kuuluisaa Arabialaista Maustekakkua, jota leivotaan aina tähän aikaan vuodesta. Ahkerat naiset kylässä sekoittavat muskottia, kanelia, kardemummaa, sitruunaa, vaniljaa ja suklaata saadakseen joulukakkuun sen ihanan maun ja tuoksun. Kylän sulttaani kaataa suklaa-kahvikuorrutuksen kakun päälle ja nautinto on valmis.

Idag hemma hos Sofia sitter vi på en flygande matta på väg till forna Arabien. Vi ska smaka på den berömda arabiska kryddkakan, som bakas alltid den här tiden på året. Flitiga kvinnohänder blandar ihop en kryddblandning som innehåller muskot, kardemumma, kanel, citron, vanilj och choklad. Sultanen i byn får äran att hälla den starka chokladkaffeglasyren på kakan.

Please give me a piece as well, otherwise I will fall down from this cloud!

Monday mood and snow

Lunta on satanut taas, koko yö. Ja lisää on tulossa. Tämä kuva on otettu tasan 2 viikkoa sitten kun olimme olleet luostarin joulumarkkinoilla. Silloin oli vielä vihreää. Tänään haetaan joulukuusi Innsbruckista. Illalla juodaan ehkä Glühweinit terassilla kynttilälyhdyn valossa ja ihmetellään...... tätä lumen paljoutta.

It has been snowing again, the whole night. And there´s more to come. Look at these pictures above, they were taken 2 weeks ago and it was still so green. Today we are going to buy our christmas tree. In the evening we might drink glühwein on the terrace in candle light and watch......the never ending snow.

Five things

The nice blogger Finnforlife in Munich gave me a task to write five things, qualities or strange things about me. Okay here we go!

Mukava bloggari Finnforlife Münchenissä antoi minulle tehtävän kirjoittaa viisi minusta kertovaa ominaisuutta/omituisuutta. Okei, tässä ne sitten tulevat!

 1. Vihreä tee. Juon monta litraa vihreää teetä viikossa, joka ilta kannullisen. Pitää mielen ja kehon tasapainossa.

Green tea. I drink many liters a week, every evening a jug. Keeps body and mind in balance.






                                                                               

2. Lenkkitossut, maailman parhaat ystävät ja terapeutit. Jos pääsen tunnin lenkille vähintään 4 kertaa viikossa niin maailma on ihan mukava paikka.

Running shoes, my best friends and therapists. If I get my weekly dosis of running, the world seems to be good place.

3. LV laukut ja lompakko, parhaat arkikumppanit päivästä toiseen. Kovalla työllä ja pienellä palkalla säästetty ja ilolla ostettu.

LV bags and wallet, faithful friends day after day. Timeless. Save your earnings bit by bit and then buy, that´s my thing.

4.Villasukat. Kotona aina päällä, talvet ja kesät, myös nukkuessa, lähtevät aina matkalle mukaan. Olen villasukkanainen.

Wool socks, at home always on, summer or winter, while sleeping and always in my suitcase when I travel. I´m a wool sock woman.

5.  Läheisriippuvainen. Oma perhe on aina mielessä, töissä, lenkillä, shoppailemassa. En voisi kuvitellakaan lähteä miehen kanssa kahdestaan lomalle ilman lapsia. Lapset vaan mielessä ovat ja pitää aina olla lähellä, pehmeät mussukat.

Family addicted. My own family always on my mind, at work, shopping or wherever. Can´t imagine us two on a vacation without the kids. Those teddy bears just have to be around!
