It´s a lipstick jungle

Jokaisella on heikkoutensa. Minulla huulipunat. Pitää usein saada uutta, mutta niitä myös kuluu. Tykkään ehkä vielä enemmän huulipunan pikkusiskosta, lip glossista, mutta se on taas ihen eri tarina. Aina jään kiinni, lentokentällä viimeiseen minuuttiin asti kokeilen ja vertailen ja sitten äkkiä kassalle. Tulee valitettavasti usein ostettua liian vaaleaa tai liian tummaa, valaistus kaupassa ei ole sama kuin luonnon valo. Tähän päivään asti en ole vieläkään löytänyt sitä täydellistä väriä, eli matka huulipuna viidakossa jatkuu....( huomaathan postauksen alla oleva gallup, kiitos!)

Estee Lauder is my favourite

Everyone has his weakness, and my weakness is definitely lipsticks. Maybe I like lipstick´s younger sister, lip gloss, even more, but that´s another story. Always tempted by new colours at the airport, testing and comparing until boarding. Unfortunately I often tend to choose the wrong shade, the light in the shop is never the same as in real. Until today I haven´t been lucky enough to find my ultimate lipstick shade or colour so my journey in the colourful lipstick jungle continues....

Taste of summer

Kesän makuja kielellä vaikka ulkona on lunta ja kylmä, tätä iki-ihanaa marenki-kerma kakkua kuuluu syödä kesäpäivänä ulkona, mutta maistuu ihanalle myös talvella, varsinkin nyt kun kaupasta saa tuoreita mansikoita eikä niiiin hirveän makuisia mitä arvata saattaa.

A taste of summer in the middle of winter, this delicious cake with meringue, strawberries and cream make us long for summer. At the moment you can get fresh strawberries in the super market and I have to admit they aren´t that bad!!!

Power walking in the sun

Världens bästa väder för att ta sig en rask, lång promenad och äntligen har vi en sol. En härlig, jätte varm och stark sol som lyser efter att ha varit i gömman för en tid. Det här är Seefelds bästa sida. Som belöning fräscha, röda kinder och ett huvud fritt och glatt, fullt med nya ideer och positiva tankar.

The most perfect weather to take a long power walk. Finally we can see and feel the sun. This is how it´s supposed to be, this is Seefeld as its best. I was rewarded with healthy looking red cheeks, a free mind and head full of ideas and positive thoughts when I returned home. Just fantastic!

Vegetarian Day

Today at home with Sofia we serve filled zucchini boats with happy yellow rice, cucumber and carrot tzatziki joghurt sauce. The boats are filled with peppers, mushrooms and Feta cheese. One day without meat keeps the stomach happy!

Tänään Sofia tarjoaa täytettyjä kesäkurpitsaveneitä, keltaisen riisin kera ja kastikkeina kurkku- sekä porkkana tzatzikia. Kurpitsaveneiden sisällä piiloutuu paprikaa, sieniä ja feta juustoa. Lihaton päivä ja vatsa kiittää!

Sade today, 53 years of age.

Rakastan Saden musiikkia, rauhoittavaa ja vähän melankolista. Kaunis, älykäs nainen, elää rauhallista elämää, ei skandaaleja, on onnellinen. Muistatteko tämän ihanan videon, jossa Sade on merenneito, juoksee kaduilla suolapussi kädessään etsien merimiestään. Kuin kaunis uni.

I love Sade´s music, good lyrics, melancolic in a way but still full of deep rhythm. She´s a happy woman, living a normal life, no scandals. Can you remember this ever lovely video, Sade as a mermaid searching for her sailor on the streets with a plastic bag with salt in her hand. Like a dream.

A jug full of joy

Tänään oli semmoinen päivä että minun piti ostaa itselleni  jotakin kaunista, ihan vain piristämään mieltä kun tätä ikuista lumen tuloa ei kohta enää voi nähdä ja sietää. Onneksi kotona voi luoda haluamansa tunnelman! Mutta oletteko huomanneet, että ulkona on valoisampaa? Täällä alkaa hämärtämään noin kello 17.15 aikoihin ja aamulla kello 7 jälkeen valo nousee hitaasti vuorten takana. Tammikuu ei ole minun lempparikuukausi.

Today I had to cheer up my mind with some flowers, because I need some colour and  beauty....surprise, it´s snowing again! But have you noticed, that it´s getting dark later than before, here around 5.15 pm and in the morning the light returns slowly behind the mountains around 7.15 am. January is not my favourite month. No, not at all!

This is Austria: Cafe Sacher

Today at home with Sofia we start a new label called "This is Austria", where I show you Austria bit by bit. Let us start today with the sweet side of Austria.

For more than ten years ago Innsbruck got its own Cafe Sacher. A touch of Vienna on the other side of Austria. Located in the old town, next to Hofburg. Everyone knows the world famous chocolate cake which you can also buy as a gift or as "take away" in wooden boxes in different sizes (and prices!). Coffee is good. Sacher cake, well it´s excellent. Other pastry like Topfenstrudel or Apfelstrudel I wouldn´t recommend. Drinks are also served and meals during lunch time.

Friday´s Treat

Perjantai-illan kunniaksi tarjotaan jälkiruoaksi jotakin herkullista, suklaa-vadelma brownies vanijajäätelöllä. Taikinaan käytetään hyvän laatuista tummaa suklaata ja vadelmia. Maku on intensiivinen mutta marjojen kanssa raikas eikä liian makea. Resepti on Donna Hayn kirjasta "Schnelle Küche für Gäste". Helppo valmistaa kun vieraat istuvat pöydässä, kokki voi vapaasti rupatella ja valmistus ei vie illasta montaa minuuttia.

Today at home with Sofia we serve something very delicious, chocolate raspberry brownie with vanilla ice cream. Ingredients like good quality dark chocolate and raspberries make an intensive but not too sweet combination. Recipe is from Donna Hay´s book "Instant entertaining". Easy to make and serve and while preparing you can easily chat with your guests!

Pink Ranunculus

Kanske världens vackraste blomma, ranunkel, pryder mitt lilla fönster och hämtar med sig en aning vårstämning. Fylliga men sköra blommor badar i vintersolens värme.

Maailman ehkä kaunein kukka, ranunkel (en tiedä suomenkielistä nimeä) luo samanvärisessä kannussa hempeän keväisen tunnelman. Ihanat, pulleat kukat nauttivat ikkunassa talviauringosta.

Maybe the world´s most beautiful flower, ranunculus, is enjoying the winter sun in my small window. Big but fragile blossoms in a fantastic, soft pink colour. White is also my favourite. A touch of spring on a winter´s day.

Finnish goodies

Veli kumppanineen tulivat käymään ja toivat ihania Candykingin karkkeja ja Fazerin suklaata. Voi, voi, kyllä tammikuusta taitaa tulla terveyskuukauden sijaan lihotuskuukausi. Pakkasta ulkona piisaa, yöllä jopa -20 astetta, mutta päivällä aurinko paistaa ja sää on mitä mahtavin.

My brother and his family came for a visit and brought us Finnish goodies and Fazer´s blue chocolate. January was supposed to be a healthy month for all of us, but now it´s going to be the month of sugar. What can you do? The weather is cold, up to -20 degrees during the night but during the day the most loveliest, sunniest weather you can imagine.

Pizza Sofia

Perjantai-ilta. Väsynyt mieli ja väsyneet jalat. Nyt on aika hemmotella, vatsaa ja aisteja. Kotipizza ja hyvää punaviiniä. Ei mitään sen kummempaa. Kynttilät ja takkatuli. Lasten helpottuneet kasvot rankan kouluviikon jälkeen. Minä ja ihanat villasukat. Elämä on aika yksinkertaista.

Friday night. Tired feet and mind. Time to enjoy and relax. Home made pizza and good red wine. Nothing special. Candles and a warming fire. Kids happy faces after a hard week at school. Me and my wool socks. Life is simple.

Ausverkauf, Sale or whatever!

It wasn´t my intention to go in there!! Where? To the shopping mall. In fact I don´t like SALE, although I have to admit it´s a fantastic feeling when you find something you really like and in your size (which is seldom the case) and 50% or more off the price. This time I didn´t look for something for myself, only for my sweet mice. Because all of us in this family love comfortable, good looking home wear, I was quite happy to pay for all these things from Zara Kids around 40 euro!

More than enough

Tänään näytän teille miten paljon lunta meillä täällä Seefeldissä on. Kolme päivää ja yötä on satanut taukoamatta. Tänään eivät edes junat kulkeneet ja elämä on muutenkin vaikeampaa kuin muuten. Kaatuneita puita kuin myrskyn jäljiltä. Joka puolella traktoreita, ihmiset kävelevät keskellä tietä autojen seassa.

Can you imagine how it looks like when it has been snowing for three days and nights. Today the trains "made a break" because of fallen trees on the rails. Snow cars are working day and night. Pedestrians walking on the street among the cars. Life gets difficult.

.........and for tomorrow they reported more snow.
